Reclaim the disk. Nothing goes behind your back.
MacCleaner finds the caches, leftovers and forgotten downloads taking up your Mac, shows you exactly what it found, and moves them to the Trash — where you can still change your mind.
Free to try. Universal build, 5 MB.
How it behaves
A cleaner you can leave running without worrying about it.
- 01
Trash first, always
The default is to move things to the Trash, not to erase them. Emptying it stays your decision, made when you are ready.
- 02
Every operation is undoable
Each deletion is written to a journal before it happens, so anything a scan did can be walked back afterwards.
- 03
Checked twice, by two processes
No path is removed until it has passed the safety policy in the app and again in the privileged helper. A tampered client still cannot get a protected path through.
What it looks at
Seven places a Mac quietly fills up.
Each one is its own scan, with its own review screen. You choose what goes.
Quick Care
Check everything in one pass and review what is worth removing.
Cleanup
Caches, logs and temporary files your Mac and its apps left behind.
Performance
What runs in the background, and the housekeeping macOS wants doing.
Applications
Remove apps together with the files they leave behind.
My Clutter
Big files, downloads and duplicates you have stopped needing.
Disk Map
Where your disk space actually went.
Force Delete
Delete files that refuse to go — locked, in use, or owned by the system.
The part that matters
Root access, kept on a short leash.
Deleting files the system owns needs privileges, and handing an app root is how cleaners earn their reputation. MacCleaner installs a small privileged helper that exposes a narrow, typed set of operations — no shell commands ever cross the boundary — and it re-validates every single path itself before touching anything.
- A typed XPC contract, not a shell
- The helper rebuilds the safety policy for the asking user and re-checks every path
- Only clients signed by us can connect
