Before you write

The version number in Settings › General includes the build in brackets. Quoting it saves a round trip, because two copies of the same version can be different builds.

If something was removed that should not have been

Every deletion is journalled and the default is the Trash, so start there: the file is most likely still in it. Tell us the path either way — a path that got through the safety policy and should not have is the most serious kind of bug this app can have.
